Vanpooling saves you money! Just think about dividing your commuting costs between 7 to 15 other commuters who live and work near you. Plus, the vehicle, insurance and maintenance are provided by a local public agency, and riders simply pay a low monthly fare.
Below are some of the vanpool programs in North Carolina:
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) - Available to commuters who live or work in Mecklenburg County
Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) - Available to commuters who live or work in Guilford, Forsyth, Yadkin, Surry, Stokes, Rockingham, Alamance, Randolph, Davidson or Davie counties
GoTriangle Vanpool Program - Available to commuters who live or work in Durham, Johnston, Orange, or Wake counties
Wave Pool - A collaborative effort between the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority which allows people who live and work near each other and have similar commuting schedules to share a ride to work.
