About the Bike the Triangle Challenge

The Bike the Triangle challenge encourages and rewards cyclists for choosing a healthy and active transportation choice. From May 1st – 31st, cyclists will earn points by choosing bicycling as their travel mode and tracking those bicycle trips on Share the Ride NC.

Cycling trips can include trips for commutes to work, errands, adventure, or health and fitness. Individual cyclists or teams of cyclists record each bicycle trip to earn points and get entered in drawings for prizes.

How to Earn Points

The Bike the Triangle Challenge encourages and rewards participants for taking bicycle trips often.

Here are all the ways participants can earn points:

  1. Bicycle trips tracked in the Share the Ride NC Commute Calendar earn one (1) point with a maximum of three (3) points earned per day. The Commute Calendar is in the top toolbar under Log My Commute.
  2. Riding your bike every day is a challenge, and we know this, so each day that a participant tracks at least one bicycle trip, they'll earn two (2) bonus points.
  3. What about the distance of bicycle trips? Distance matters, but the distance of cycling trips doesn't earn points. In a tie, the team with the furthest distance traveled will be the tie-breaker.

The more you ride your bike, the more points you earn. Still have questions. Be sure to check out the Frequently Asked Questions.
